JLD Scholarship Fund

Dear Applicant:
JLD Community Solutions proudly announces our annual JLD Scholarship Fund award, established to assist recipients with the costs of their college education. Each applicant must currently be a high school senior who will enter their freshman year of college or vocational school during Fall 2024.
Recipients will be honored and presented with a scholarship during the senior assembly program on Friday, May 17th to assist with the educational expenses to a college or vocational school of their choosing. The scholarship award amount will be announced during the senior assembly program. To be deemed eligible, the following guidelines of this application must be adhered to carefully:
Eligibility Criteria:
(1) Must be a young man of color (African American/Indigenous/People of Color) graduating Lexington Senior High School in Spring 2024.
(2) Must be attending a college/university/vocational school starting Fall 2024.
(3) Must be a citizen and permanent resident of U.S.
(4) Must possess a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
(5) Proof of actual enrollment is required before any awarded funds are disbursed.

*If you do not have your "letter of acceptance" by the time you apply for the scholarship, no worries. You can still apply and provide the "letter of acceptance" at a later time. However, the "letter of acceptance" must be provided prior to any award funds being disbursed.
Hard copies of the application are also available at Lexington Senior High School for applicants who prefer to fill out the application manually.
PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship awards are disbursed in two installments with the first disbursement being provided during the fall semester and the second disbursement provided in the spring semester of the recipients freshman year. Recipients are required to inform JLD Community Solutions via email at support@jldscholarshipfund.org if they have decided not to attend college/university/vocational school during either of the semesters and forfeit disbursement of funds. JLD Community Solutions reserves the right to request proof of enrollment to college/university/vocational school and to require the return of funds if they are not being used to cover educational expenses as a result of recipient not being enrolled in college/university/vocational school during the time of scholarship disbursement.
