On Saturday, March 25th we hosted our 13th annual fish fry fundraiser. We look forward to this event every year because it gives us an opportunity to serve our community while raising scholarship funds.
This year, we experienced a growth in participation from the community leaving us overwhelmed in the best way possible. Our fundraising goal was $2,000 and, because of the enormous turnout, we exceeded our goal!
We can’t begin to express how grateful we are for the support we continue to receive every year and the support keeps growing!
Participants who attended the fundraiser ranged from family, friends, church members, classmates, scholarship award recipients, the Mayor, the Chief of Police, loyal supporters who have been with us since the first fish fry and newcomers. The outcome was truly amazing, so amazing we ran out of food for the first time! We certainly encountered a set of challenges this time that has created an opportunity for us to learn, adjust and make next year’s event even better!
A special thank you goes out to our team of volunteers – Curtis McDuffie, Miranda Holt, Kasey Wilkie, Janice Richardson Davis, Shanette Lockhart, Henrietta Hamilton, Christi Brunson, Jihan Page and Pee Wee Clodfelter.
A huge thank you goes out to each and every person who attended and gave a donation. Our hearts are filled with joy at how you show up every year… thank you for being a change maker!
