Join us for the 3rd annual gun violence awareness event, Lexington Community Safety Awareness Block Party featuring Black Business Expo! Celebrate community, safety, and entrepreneurship at this free, family-friendly event! JLD Community Solutions invites you to an afternoon filled with music, entertainment, games, and fun activities for kids of all ages. United for Safety, United for Success!
June is nationally recognized as Gun Violence Awareness Month, with the first Friday designated as Gun Violence Awareness Day. This year, Gun Violence Awareness Day will be observed on Friday, June 7th. For the past three years, JLD Community Solutions has proudly joined thousands of individuals and organizations across the U.S. in honoring this important occasion. In Lexington, NC, we have organized impactful community events aimed at fostering reflection, raising awareness about the devastating effects of gun violence, and promoting social responsibility to build safer, stronger communities.
We have the following goals for this year's event:
- Unite the community to collectively embrace social responsibility in fostering stronger, safer communities where everyone can thrive. We aim to empower young men of color to take an active role in shaping their neighborhoods and become catalysts for positive change.
- Showcase the inspiring stories of Black-owned businesses in our community. By sharing their journeys, we hope to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and motivate them to pursue their passions, build successful ventures, and contribute to the economic vitality of our community.
